A report from Spanish newspaper "AS" confirmed that Real Madrid had included French defender Ibrahima Konaté, a player for Liverpool, among the players the royal club wanted to sign in June 2026 at no cost, exploiting his expiring contract with the English club.
The newspaper said that while Liverpool were eager to extend the contract of the player, if his condition does in fact not improve feeling hot favourites for his signature with Paris Saint-Germain being kept as close shadows.
According to the report, Real Madrid seems keen to wait until next summer and make a move for the player on a free due to the uncertain levels of high performances delivered by both Éder Militão (who is linked with an exit!) and David Alaba with Rudiger available for Hausen or Asensio in this position.
The newspaper highlighted that this increases Real Madrid's chances to sign Konaté in the current summer transfer market, for an amount of between 20 and 25 million euros, which is what the royal club will not exceed in its offer.
The report adds Konaté has in any case let it be known he would like to head to the Bernabeu this summer or next, as a result of his dream to represent Madrid, with Klopp keen for Liverpool not to lose him and already making plans by identifying alternatives should he leave.
